Pre Painting Steps
NEW SURFACES
Ensure that the surface is thoroughly dry. Allow all the efflorescent salts to diffuse to the surface until white residues do not appear on the surface. Remove all loose powder by sweeping with brush using a rubbing stone and sand paper.
OLD SURFACE
Thoroughly clean the surface and remove old loose paint. If the surface has been previously with “oil bound” distemper, white wash or any other powdery coating it should be completely scraped.
FINISHING
Thin paint to brushing consistency with clear water. The first coat must be applied thin by brush in order to seal the surface. Apply by brush or roller two to three coats.
How To Apply
SURFACES PREPARATION
Ensure that the surface is thoroughly dry, clean and sound. Repair all cracks and defective rendering etc. before painting. Allow sample time for drying. Remove all moss and mould growths. Remove poorly adhering for powdery coatings
FINISHING
Stir and mix the paint to smooth consistency. Add up to 50% water to Gobi’s Gold Protector Emulsion and apply 2-3 coats. Apply by brush or roller. When applying by roller load the brush fairly, generously, apply a full even coat and do not brush out too far. When applying by roller stir the paint to a smooth consistency before pouring into the roller tray and apply freely on the surface. Clean equipment immediately after use with detergent solution/soap water.
